Itinerary

  • Welcome to Morocco. We meet you on arrival in Casablanca and visit the Hassan II Mosque, which stands facing the Atlantic with its courtyard opening straight onto the sea. There is time for a walk along the water and lunch before we leave the city.
In the afternoon we drive to Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom, and walk through the Kasbah of the Oudayas and the medina as the light goes. Overnight in Rabat.
  • After breakfast we head for the Rif Mountains and Chefchaouen, one of the most romantic towns in Morocco and famous for its blue-painted streets.
The afternoon is an unhurried walk through the medina, its small squares and the corners that make the town so photogenic. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
  • The morning is free to enjoy Chefchaouen before we drive to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, set among green hills and olive trees.
We carry on to Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, and check in to a traditional riad inside the medina. Overnight in Fes.
  • A full day in Fes: the medina, the madrasas, the souks, the tanneries and the old neighbourhoods around them.
The afternoon is free to walk together and take the city at your own pace, and in the evening there is a romantic dinner in a riad. Overnight in Fes.
  • We leave Fes and head south through the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane and continuing to Midelt as the landscape slowly turns to desert.
We reach Merzouga in time for a camel ride into the dunes as the sun drops, then dinner under the stars and a night in a private tent. Overnight in a luxury camp at Erg Chebbi.
  • An early start for the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast a 4x4 takes you through the Erg Chebbi region: the oases, the desert itself and the small Berber villages around it.
The afternoon is yours at the camp, and at sunset there is a special dinner and a sky with nothing in the way of it. Second night in the luxury camp.
  • After breakfast we drive to the Todra Gorges through villages and valley country, visit the gorges, and continue to the Dades Valley and its rock formations.
Dinner is at the hotel. Overnight in the Dades Valley.
  • We take the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, stop in Ouarzazate and go on to Aït Benhaddou, one of the most beautiful fortified villages in Morocco.
Then over the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and down into Marrakech in the late afternoon, to a riad in the old city. Overnight in Marrakech.
  • An unhurried breakfast and a full day in Marrakech: the medina, the souks, the Bahia Palace and the Jemaa el-Fna.
In the afternoon, a hammam and massage for two, and in the evening a dinner in a traditional restaurant or riad to end the trip. Overnight in Marrakech.
  • Breakfast at the riad and a free morning for any last shopping, or for doing nothing at all, before the transfer to the airport.
